The game

Numbugs PowerUp is a fast-paced maths game app which provides a fun way for children to improve their mental arithmetic skills.  It is currently available on Google Android market and is soon to be launched on iOS and Windows platforms.

The Numbugs are invading!

Help Addy the anteater on his journey through the jungle, as he battles to stop the Numbugs from taking over. Use your mental maths skills to work out the correct answer, and fire numbered bubbles at the oncoming hoard to stop them before it's too late.

The app offers 7 different game types (Counting, Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication, Division, Equations and True/False) with varying difficulty and constant progression making it suitable for a wide audience ranging from lower KS1 pupils to KS3 adults!

Numbugs PowerUp has been produced through a collaboration of Reading Quest and RBS with the help of UCL.

How was this achieved?

The creation of Numbugs was an incredible experience for a team of 8 RBS graduates who were tasked with helping charity "Reading Quest" to produce a trading arm. Five games were produced out of which I was fortunate to have the chance to project manage the creation of Numbugs PowerUp; the game you see above.

I was heavily involved with the production and design of this game which luckily was a great success (the ratings, reviews and feedback speak for themselves). As a result, we won the 2013 RBS Pilotlight competition!

None of this would have been possible without the help of talented undergraduate coders from UCL.
We continue to work with Reading Quest to further launch this game on Apple iOS and Windows.
