Friends!
I'm very pleased so many of us are meeting together this coming weekend on Sat, 03 May 2014. I haven't seen a few faces in quite some time, so I'm really excited. Also, the last time I met the full bunch (in 2012, Ilford), there were so many singletons, now everyone seems to have doubled up and I feel terrific as my friends circle just expands beautifully each time this happens.
I hope to make this fun. Here's the final details of the proposed agenda:
The day is broken up into three parts:
Meeting location: Pavilion Tea House, Charlton Way, London SE10 8QY
Meeting time: 11:17 AM
Part I
11:37 Greenwich
Let's wait for everyone to arrive over tea in Greenwich Park. Then, lets view The Wilderness; the oldest deer park of London. After that, let's head over to the Royal Museums of Greenwich next door and stand over the Mean time meridian which divides the Eastern and Western hemisphere and take some memorable snaps. If people have the appetite, we can view the Royal Observatory or Maritime Museum, otherwise we'll head upto the Cutty Sark (ancient British ship) for some more snaps.
Part II
13:42 Mudchute
From Cutty Sark, we will cross over the Thames. . . (apologies) -we will cross "under" the Thames River using the cool under river Greenwich Foot Tunnel. We will soon arrive at the Mudchute Farm, where we will spend some time with farm animals before taking lunch at their proprietary "Mudchute Kitchen" Cafe under the open sun.
Lunch options include Vegatarian Pasta, Paninis with chips, toast and eggs etc.
The lunch should be relatively light, as afterwards we will be Barclays biking it from Mudchute to Westferry! We will pass the beautiful canals of CrossHarbour and Surrey Quays. The biking should last only 15 mins. From Westferry, we will DLR it to the East.
Part III
16:14 King George V
We will stop momentarily to view the gorgeous King G V gardens next to river views. Then we shall walk along river and eventually land at my residence at London City Airport, which a few of you missed in 2013. Here, we can conclude with some indoor masti and games which I will endeavour to make entertaining.
The Bollywood Quiz returns (with prizes to winners)
Of course, there is a modest Surprise. It will be disclosed just before an early dinner ~ 19:45.
For dinner, we can order Pizza or Indian from the local shops - I ain't cooking!
We'll be done by 20:30 but people are welcome to stay on and stay over as desired.
Surprise!
Lastly, while I'm usually looking for just about any reason to get together and celebrate, this occasion does come with a modest surprise. As always, if anyone can accurately guess what/who the surprise is, then I've got a personally hand-picked present for you.
(Kanav won last yr, Murtu won 2012)
See you Saturday!
